Students of the MA Middle Eastern Studies can, after approval of the Humanities Career Center and Board of Examiners, opt to do an internship. The internship will be registered in uSis as an extra-curricular course and as such mentioned in the Diploma Supplement. To get an internship supervisor from the department of Middle Eastern Studies students should have successfully completed 40 EC of course work of the MA programme and have finished a reasonable part of the MA thesis (to be assessed by the thesis supervisor).
The Berlin Graduate School Muslim Cultures and Societies funded by the Excellence Initiative of the German Federal and State Governments will admit up to fifteen PhD students to its doctoral programme to begin October 1st 2013. Up to ten of these candidates will receive a Graduate School grant; the other candidates will be supported in their quest for funding. Application deadline November 30th 2012.
The Support Fund for Research in History Studies promotes research, books, academic work and narratives which will contribute to determining by scientific methods and publicizing the people -in modern parlance; human rights defenders-, whose humanist acts of conscience influenced other people’s lives especially during 1915 in any providence of Anatolia. Application deadline is September 14th, 2012.
From autumn 2012 onwards the NIT has two internships available within the interdisciplinary Tophane research project about the tangible and intangible heritage of Istanbul.
