Research activities

My principle area of research involves second and third language acquisition, specifically the acquisition of typologically similar languages. I am also interested in language contact phenomena in both Hispanic and Lusophone communities and the application of corpus linguistics research and tools to language learning pedagogy. My recent research has focused on morpho-syntactic transfer among English/Spanish bilinguals acquiring Portuguese as a third language.
