My research is concerned with the law's fundamental theatricality, with the idea that justice must be seen to be done. This theatricality consists both of a logic of showing and of acting, and this is how my project deals with questions of legitimacy as well as ethics and politics. Central is the exploration of the kinds of spaces in which this showing and acting occurs. To that extent my project is part of what is being called 'the spatial turn' in law and literature.
