Research

The Rhetoric of Illusion: Persuasion and Response in Forgery, the Arts and Other Deceptions (1600-1750) - this interdisciplinary six-year PhD project (2009-2015) examines the role of rhetoric in deception (textual forgery in particular) and the arts and how rhetoric featured in the relationship between the two in the early modern period. The project is supervised by Prof.dr. Caroline van Eck.

Curriculum vitae

Jacqueline Hylkema graduated cum laude in Comparative Literature at Leiden University in 2004. She combines her research with a number of other activities at LUCAS, such as the organization of the first LUCAS Graduate Conference in 2011 and the Series Editorship of the new Journal of the LUCAS Graduate Conference.
