Studying linguistics at the Leiden University Centre of Linguistics is challenging and exciting. There are few places in the world where both so many languages are studied and lecturers are familiar with many different approaches to the study of language.
The Dr. P.A. Tiele Foundation awards the thesis prize to the best graduate thesis in the field of book history. It is the objective of the Dr. P.A. Tiele Foundation to promote the study of the book in the Netherlands. This is done by installing professorships, enabling and publishing research and organizing symposia, congresses and lectures, and since 2007, by awarding remarkable theses.
Every year, international students flock to Leiden to obtain their Master’s degree. To facilitate their integration into the university and student life in Leiden, the Humanities Faculty has set up the Humanities Master’s Buddy Programme. Our aim with this programme is to welcome new students and create a social and academic network from day one. Be a buddy - register now!
There will be an introduction day on Wednesday 7 September 2016 for all MA Linguistics and Research MA Linguistics students, with separate meetings for each specialisation (see the schedule below). This will be followed by drinks, which will give you the opportunity to meet staff members and other students in the programme.
