Of Poetry and Politics: Classical Poetic Concepts in New Politics of Twentieth Century Iran; Mystical Concepts in Khomeini’s Collection of Poetry
Supervisors: Asghar Seyed-Gohrab and Petra Sijpesteijn

In my research, I examine how mystical concepts from classical Persian poetry are used in modern Iran to comment on political developments or to affect political changes. In other words, how are mystical concepts from classical Persian literature recycled in modern politics?
