Maul within the framework of the "Leibniz-Preis" at the Seminar für Sprachen und Kulturen des Vorderen Orients - Assyriologie of the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg.
March 2003 - August 2003 Curator at The British Museum, London , Ancient Near East Department, for the "Ashurbanipal Library Project" focused on the Babylonian tablets of the library.
October 2003 - September 2005 Research Assistant ("wissenschaftliche Angestellte") at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg - Seminar für Sprachen und Kulturen des Vorderen Orients, funded by the "Margarete von Wrangell-Habilitationsprogramm".
October 2005 - December 2005 Curatorial "Townley Fellow" at The British Museum, London, Ancient Near East Department, for the "Ashurbanipal Library Project" focused on the Babylonian tablets from Nineveh.
