Codes of Conduct

Leiden University subscribes to the Netherlands Code of Conduct for Scientific Practice: Principles of Good Scientific Teaching and Research as drafted by the Association of Universities in the Netherlands (VSNU) in 2004 and updated in 2012. The University complements the Code with its local Regulations on Academic Integrity , outlining due process in case of (suspected) violations of the code.


LIAS PhD and Postdoc Seminar 2010/2011

The LIAS PhD and Postdoc Seminar is a meeting-place for PhD candidates and postdoctoral fellows, to discuss topics that are directly relevant to all those engaged in Area Studies. The seminar offers participants an opportunity to present their research, to benefit from one another’s work, ideas and experience, and to build a community across disciplinary, area and period specialization. It enables them to broaden their horizons and reflect on their own professional practice.
