Marise van Amersfoort
We will give you more information on the study programme, possibilities for electives and minor programmes, internships and studying abroad, master programmes and career opportunities. After a short presentation you can ask questions and talk to foreign students who study in Leiden.

14.30h - 15.00h - First year class 'Configuring the World'
prof. dr. Richard Griffiths
During your BA International Studies you learn to study a world region from historical, economical, cultural and political angles. You will also learn to do so in an international perspective. But is it actually possible to compare world regions? Is the world nowadays not too complex for comparison? Are world regions and people not too different from eachother? At the end of this English-language class (proefcollege) you will be able to make demographic comparisons. Prof Griffiths will show you that the data you base your analysis on are not as easy to compare as you might think now.

15.00h - 15.30h - Meeting students
prof. dr. Richard Griffiths & Marise van Amersfoort
You have the opportunity to talk to the BA International Studies-staff and lecturers. There will also be foreign students present who tell you more about studying in the Netherlands.
