Fields of interest
Dutch art and cultural history from 1400 to the present.
Research
My research focuses on Dutch cultural history, in particular on the Dutch art market of the 17th century, covering such subjects as the prices of paintings, the art trade and the economic and cultural influences on art collecting.
Curriculum Vitae
I studied Dutch language and Culture and Art History at Leiden University, and have been lecturing in the Dutch Studies Department since 1986. I obtained my PhD in 2001 with a dissertation on the art market in Haarlem and since then have written a number of publications on the Dutch art market and the prices of paintings.
Teaching activities
Marion Boers lectures on Dutch cultural history and the visual arts. She also takes part in the Dutch Studies language acquisition programme. Co-editor of Internationale Neerlandistiek and of De Zeven Provincieën series.
