Fields of interest

Prof. dr. Wim Willems has written a number of books on immigrants and ethnic minorities and has edited several volumes (in Dutch) on Dutch from the former East-Indies and colonial history. He has also written widely on the history of traveling groups, especially Gypsies and caravan-dwellers. He was involved in projects on 'Gypsies and other itinerant groups, a socio-historical approach', 'The return and reception of 'Dutch repatriates' from the Indies after the Second World War' and 'The history of Dutch migrants from the Netherlands Indies in a comparative perspective, 1945-1995' and 'Life stories of the twentieth century'

Currently he works on 'The history of urban migrants' and a'Biography on Tjalie Robinson, an author from the Dutch East-Indies'.
