Curriculum Vitae (short version)

Ida Petter graduated in Economic History (2004) and in European Union Studies (2005) at Leiden University. She studied abroad (Spain) in 2001-2002 with an Erasmus scholarship. In 2004 she became a lecturer and researcher at Leiden University. In 2006 she took a position as senior policy advisor at the Dutch Ministry of Finance (Foreign Financial Relations Directorate, EU division) but continued to be part-time lecturer for Leiden University ever since. From September 2009 to June 2010 miss Petter was seconded from the Ministry of Finance to the Dutch Parliament (“Tweede Kamer”) as EU advisor in the field of financial EU policies, after which she took up the position of Deputy Secretary General to the Dutch Senate (“Eerste Kamer”), managing i.a. the standing committees on Finance, Foreign Affairs and European Cooperation Organizations. In March 2011 she returned to the Ministry of Finance taking up the position of senior policy advisor responsible for EU budgetary policies/legislation and the accountability of EU finances.
