PhD Council

The PhD Council consists of all PhD students at the Institute for History, including all PhD students whose supervisors are part of the Institute. The PhD Council meets at least twice a year at the end of each semester – or more often in the case of urgent matters.

The president of the PhD Council doubles as the PhD representative to the Board of the Institute for History, and as PhD representative on the PhD admissions committee. The President is chosen through elections among all PhD students who are part of the Council.

Students of the Research MA track have a limited role in the PhD Council and may raise issues or attend meetings where matters of interest to both groups are concerned.
