Encompass goes on!

The ministry of education (OC en W) has generously decided to subsidize the Encompass program with a grant of 1 million euro’s for the years 2012-2016. The ministry was impressed by the results of the program thus far and stimulates further embedding of the program. Encompass II is based on a principle of co-funding. The Encompass II grant covers scholarships (44 in total) for student participating in the foundation year (formerly BA-conversion year), on the condition that these students bring in matching funds for their subsequent Leiden MA or PhD track.

The program is designed for Asian students who plan to include Dutch primary sources (VOC and colonial era) in their study of regional Asian history. The first 11 students funded by Encompass II are expected to start in August 2012. For more information do visit our renewed website.
