Concert and lecture Anıl Çamcı
On May 28th composer and new media artist Anıl Çamcı will give a lecture and a concert in the DocArtes + series at studio Loos.
Anıl Çamcı is an Istanbul-based composer of electronic music and a new media artist whose work has been (dis)played around the world. He holds degrees in sound design (Istanbul Technical University) and multimedia engineering (University of California, Santa Barbara). He is currently pursuing a PhD degree as a part of the docARTES program in The Netherlands (Leiden University) and Belgium (Orpheus Instituut) while he teaches graduate level courses on electronic music composition and history in Istanbul.
His research, titled "Environment as a Language for Electronic Music: Enhancing the Link Between the Concept and the Percept", investigates the associations between the gestures in electronic music and the sounding events in the environment to unravel the communication between the composer and the listener, aiming to explore the perceptual domain of electronic music.
