Graduation ceremonies

The official graduation ceremony will take place a couple of weeks after the Master exam. The Master's programme Arts and Culture offers three ceremonies, these shall be communicated by the Secretary's Office. During a graduation ceremony the tutor of the Thesis will present the diploma with a laudatio. The presence of your supervisor(s) at the ceremony is therefore essential. You are welcome to bring family and friends!

It is also possible to have an individual graduation ceremony throughout the rest of the year. Students can determine the date and time of their individual graduation ceremony together with their Thesis supervisor/advisors and the Board of Examiners. Students should contact the co-ordinator of studies if this is the case.


Graduation dates

Students can graduate on three official graduate moments per year. To graduate individually on another moment please contact the co-ordinator of studies.

*A first version of your Master's Thesis is a complete document, with notes, references, figures and appendices.

Students are required to hand in two paper versions: one for the supervisor and one for the second advisor/reader. They also have to upload the Thesis in the Blackboard module 5794MATH via SafeAssign (see Assignments). Further, students are required to upload the final version of their Thesis in the Student Repository.The official graduation ceremony will take place at a later date and shall be communicated by the Secretary's Office.

Cum Laude

The requirements for a diploma with the distinction Cum Laude are : a weighted grade average of minimum 8.0, no grade lower than 7.0 and a thesis grade of minimum 8.0. Also the student has to graduate within two years (Master)

The requirements for a diploma with the distinction Summa Cum Laude are : a weighted grade average of minimum 9.0, no grade lower than 8.0 and a thesis grade of minimum 9.0. Also the student has to graduate within one year (Master)
