Become a buddy in the new Humanities Master's buddy programme

Every year, international students flock to Leiden to obtain their Master’s degree. To facilitate their integration into the university and student life in Leiden, the Humanities Faculty has set up the Humanities Master’s Buddy Programme. Our aim with this programme is to welcome new students and create a social and academic network from day one. Be a buddy - register now!

Leiden University is one of the best universities to learn about Africa. There is no other institute in continental Europe that offers a same kind of interdisciplinary master's programme in African Studies that combine social sciences and humanities.

Students present their fieldwork and thesis

Students enrolled in the MA African Studies programme spend three months in Africa to follow an internship and conduct fieldwork. Upon their return, they start writing their final thesis. In early June, the students presented their findings to the thesis supervisors and each other.
